CONSTITUTION

1.1 &n= bsp; This league shall be sanctioned with the British Tenpin Bowling Association (B.T.B.A.) through the Essex County Tenpin Association (E.C.T.A.) and comply strictly with all B.T.B.A. laws, rules and regulations.

1.2<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = The league shall be known as the Southend Kursaal YBC (Youth Bowling Club).

1.3<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = The Team League shall be based on doubles handicap.

1.3a A singles pyramid league to begin season = based on a schedule and conditions set by the secretary.

1.4<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = A reserves section of the league shall run at the same time as the main league for new= members who will be allocated to a team as reserves as and when a place is availabl= e.

1.5<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = If there are more then two players to a team on the day of bowling, the players shall rotate equally with those not bowling that week still bowling in the reserves section or having extra instruction.

1.6<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = The management of the league shall be vested in a board of directors comprised = of officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer and YBC member= s. Each member of the board shall be entitled to one vote only whether he/she = is an YBC bowler, officer or both.

1.7<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = The President of the league shall have the casting vote in the event of a tied vote.

1.8<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = The rules of the league may be amended or repealed by a majority vote of member= s present at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Any member who wishes to amend the rul= es must approach a league officer no later than two weeks before the leagues A= GM. If no amendments have been received then the rules will carry on to the new= season without the rules being read out at the AGM. After the league begins its schedule, a unanimous vote of board of directors shall be necessary to alter the rules.

1.9&= nbsp; &nbs= p; Three house groups (Paper, Rock &am= p; Scissors) have been set up for the purpose of a team competition throughout= the season and a winning house will be determined by the league officials.=

MEMBERSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY

2.1 &n= bsp; The bowlers of the league shall be any person under the age of 18 before the st= art of 1^st September of every year.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>2.2<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = Each member must register as a member of the B.T.B.A. at the point of starting w= ith the YBC league.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>2.3<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = The board of directors and officials must be 18 and over and must have on their persons, at request, a current B.T.B.A. licence to match that of their stan= ding within the league.

2.4 &nb= sp; Instructors must display their B.T.B.A. badge when giving instruction.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>2.5<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = It shall be the decision of the majority of the instructor’s whether to allow under 10’s and those wishing to cross over from the reserve lan= es into the YBC league, subject to ability. If a decision can not be agreed the finale decision shall be left to the league secretary.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>2.6<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = No individual, who has been refused membership in the B.T.B.A. or is under suspension by t= hat body, shall bowl in this league.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>2.7<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = Only qualified instructors are to be permitted on the lanes.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>2.8<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = No parent or non licensed person is allowed in the bowling area apart from tho= se who are employed by the bowling centre.

DRESS CODE

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>3.1<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = No YBC juniors or instructors/officials are allowed to smoke or consume alcohol during YBC time.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>3.2<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = No drinking or food consumption in the bowling area.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>3.3<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = Till such time YBC shirts are available, polo shirts/ T-shirts are to be worn on= ce a member has joined the league.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>3.4<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = Black/dark blue trousers/shorts or skirts/skorts to be worn every week. Black/dark blue track suite bottoms may be worn. No Denim to be worn. 4 weeks given to new members to acquire a shirt on joining the YBC.

Start time=

4.1<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = The YBC shall start at 9= :30 a.m. every Saturday and finish at 11:45 a.m.

4.2<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = Instruction will be given after the league for those who wish to be instructed.

Legal line up

5.1<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = At the time of the start of the league a team shall consist of at least one registered player.

5.2<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = If there is not at least one player ready to bowl at the start time. The opposing te= am shall be awarded the points.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>5.3<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = Late arrivals may join a game prior to the completion of the 3rd frame.

5.4 &n= bsp; Should a legal line-up be available after the 3rd frame but before the commencemen= t of the = seco= nd game they shall be allowed to bowling the second and third game.=

Blind score

= 6.1<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = A team that bowls with one player shall be permitted to use the blind score f= or the absentee.

= 6.2<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = The blind score shall be 175 including handicap.

Handicap

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>7.1<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = Individual players will receive a handicap allowance of 90% of the difference between their scratch average and 200. Scratch average calculated by the number of = pins accumulated and divided by the number of games bowled.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>7.2<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = At the end of each season all players bowled that season will carry their hand= icaps over to the following season, until they have bowled nine games of the curr= ent season, whereupon they will change to the normal basis as per 7.1 above.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>7.3<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = All new players or those who have not bowled at least nine games the previous season will have their handicap based on their 1st three games as per 7.1.<= o:p>

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>7.4<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = Two points will be awarded for each game won and two points awarded for the ove= rall pinfall including handicap.

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>7.5<= span style=3D'font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> = Each team shall be responsible for the adding up of their ow= n scores and agreeing opponent’s scores of which the score sheet must be signed. Failure to sign and agree score sheet will result in no points awar= ded for that week. (Help will be given = to those who need assistance with their sheets).

<= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;color:black;background:yellow;mso-highlight:yello= w'>7.6&= nbsp; &nbs= p; A 21 game rolling handicap system w= ill be applied to both Pyramid and Team Doubles Leagues.

8.1&= nbsp; B.T.B.A rules apply

Postponements

9.1 One postponement allowed to be called and be outstanding per team, with that po= stponement played on the next available non-league date agreed by both team captains. = If no agreement can be reached the league secretary shall set a date for that match to be played of which rules 5:2, 5:3, 5:4 = and 6:1 shall be used if it is needed.

Position Standing

10.1 The Team League standing shall be determined on a point basis as per 7.4.<= /o:p>

10.2 &= nbsp; In the event of a tie on points the league position will be decided in favour = of the team with the greater total pinfall with handicap.

10.3= The Pyramid league standing shall be determined by a cascading points system from 20 to 1 awarded to the highest handicap series score reducing down to the lowest.

10.4 &= nbsp; To qualify for any prizes within the h/cap league and the scratch average divisions, players must have bowled at least 42 games of the possible individual league games as set out on the league schedule.

10.5 &= nbsp; If a new bowler joins 1/3^rd of the way through the season but can not mathematically achieve the 42 games, they too can qualify for awards as lon= g as they see the season through to the end and bowl 60% of the games possible to bowl from the poi= nt of joining and to the end of the season’s schedule. (% based if there is three to a team and a drop out every third wee= k).. <= /o:p>

Treasury

11.1= = Each player will pay £4.50 and £1.00 subs. A total of £5.50.

11.2= = The club to keep a contingences fund of £150.00 through the season to cov= er the cost of new shirts.

11.3= = Maintaining rule 11.2 and subject to league funds available, the new seasons junior BTBA membership shall be paid for as long as they had started by the 1^{st
Saturday of October of the season just finished and meet the criteria as
described in rule 10:3 of that same season.}

11.4= = Expenditure cost for stationary and postage.

11.5= = The club shall pay for an official’s BTBA membership where the same person is not active in any bowling capacity where BTBA membership would be deemed as a benefit or event sanctioned by the BTBA. This would apply for the whole season and be repaya= ble to the club should the official take part in any BTBA sanctioned event.
